Black Tusk - Holy Goat X Dead End Brew Machine

Imperial Stout with Black Treacle and Toasted Barrel Staves
 
Brewed in collaboration with Dead End Brew Machine - a deep rich imperial stout, layered with dark, roast and crystal malts,  brewed along with 100kg of Tate and Lyle black treacle. The treacle adds a rich bittersweet flavour with notes of liquorice and caramel. They conditioned the beer on staves from a PX cask, which were chopped up and toasted in our smoker. The result is a powerful stout with notes of treacle, plums, burnt caramel, barrel oak and a whisper of smoke.
